The Azores Judicial Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy who has been sharing sexually explicit images involving children under the age of 10 on social media for at least two years.
The warning came at the end of 2022 after a North American non-governmental organization notified the Portuguese Ministry of Justice. The Azores prosecutor’s office received information about the investigation and discovered that the young man had been sharing explicit pornographic images involving very young children on social networks such as Telegram.
Last Thursday, inspectors began arresting the suspect, who lives with his parents and brother on the island of San Miguel. Several computer equipment containing dozens of pornographic videos and photographs were confiscated from him. During his trial, he was banned from using the Internet.
