The gynecology and obstetrics emergency department at Braga Hospital and the maternity ward will be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to difficulties meeting the required work schedules, it was announced on Wednesday.
The hospital statement added that these services will be “air-conditioned” from 8am on Friday.
Opening is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Monday.
“During the conditioning periods, the maternity ward will remain open for women and mothers in labor admitted to the Braga Hospital,” the statement added.
The hospital recommends that in emergency cases, pregnant women and women giving birth in the region should go to hospitals in Guimarães, Vila Nova de Famalicão or Viana do Castelo.
Alternatively, you should call the SNS 24 line – 808242424.
“The Board of Directors of Hospital de Braga is committed to providing excellent medical care and constantly strives to provide the necessary conditions in order to guarantee continued access to emergency gynecology and obstetrics services, minimizing the possible impact on pregnant users in the region,” the statement said.
