Iranian authorities expressed support and congratulated Palestinian militias for their “proud” offensive against Israel, launched this Saturday from the Gaza Strip and resulting in the deaths of 40 Israelis, Europa Press reports.
“We congratulate the Palestinian mujahideen for this operation. The defenders of the temple and martyrs like Qassem Soleimani are also with these mujahideen (…) until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem,” said Rahim Safavi, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali. Khamenei, Iranian news agency ISNA reports, citing Europa Press.
Safavi was referring to Soleimani, who was killed in January 2020 in a US strike in Iraq and then led the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force.
