Jeans are prohibited in the Rostov-on-Don administration

Jeans are prohibited in the Rostov-on-Don administration

A strict dress code prohibiting jeans was introduced in the administrative building of Rostov-on-Don. This was reported by Donnews on October 8.

Security guards at the City Hall checkpoint will not allow anyone wearing denim or see-through fabric to enter the building. Citizens dressed in beach or sports clothing will not be allowed to enter the building. Forbidden – “messy and neglected” Appearance of someone entering the building.

And this applies to both officials and visitors. But there is an exception: drivers who work for the city administration can wear jeans to work.

If anyone has any questions, they can be shown an order signed by the deputy head of the administration for organizational, legal and personnel issues, Alexander Novitsky, which sets out the introduced standards.

According to the publication, the innovation is connected with the former head of the administration of the Leninsky district of Rostov-on-Don, Konstantin Tikhonov, who in the summer, during the visit of Governor Vasily Golubev to the left-bank area of the city, was dressed in red clothes, similar to the Uzbek national costume (Tikhonov is originally from Uzbekistan).

“The governor confronted the head of the administration, Alexey Logvinenko, over the inappropriate appearance of his subordinate. Then the procedure continued within the administration. And then there was an order about the dress code.””an anonymous source in the Rostov-on-Don administration told the publication.

Tikhonov is currently detained on suspicion of abuse of power when he headed the city’s trade department.

Recall that the administration had already introduced a dress code. Under Sergei Gorban, who headed the city administration from 2014 to 2016, workers and visitors were required to wear business casual clothing, exclusively light blouses and dark pants.

In Rostov-on-Don there is a legend according to which the mayor of the city, Alexander Baykov, who held this position from 1862 to 1869 and from 1884 to 1889, allegedly forbade the Cossacks to visit the city Duma building in robes, burkas, caps, with their usual clothes. This is explained by the fact that when entering a civilian institution, a Cossack should not have a military appearance.
