Airstrikes by Israeli troops and the lack of a humanitarian corridor have led to a catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip, RIA Novosti reported on October 13.
“The situation is almost catastrophic: they cut off our electricity and water. We try to maintain contact with the outside world and to charge our smartphones we use uninterruptible power supplies, batteries and small electric generators that run on gasoline. However, internet connections are spotty at best and it is very difficult to maintain contact with the outside world, especially Russia.”said journalist Tarek Alyan, who lives with his wife and 14-year-old daughter in Gaza City, currently under blockade by Israeli security forces.
The journalist reported that his family and other Russian citizens living in the blockaded Gaza Strip are waiting for the opening of a humanitarian corridor for their evacuation to Egypt.
“We must leave the Gaza Strip at the first opportunity, but there are no safe corridors because all roads in the Gaza Strip are subject to Israeli bombing.””Alyan noted.
Tarek noted that previously convoys moved to neighboring Gaza cities, accompanied by vehicles of the International Red Cross (ICRC), but recently representatives of the organization left the city.
Let us remember that on October 7, a new round of confrontation between Israel and Palestine began. That day, Israeli territory was subject to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.
Hamas fighters then began to seize Israel’s border areas. In response, Israel launched an operation against Hamas. Currently, the territory of Gaza is blockaded by the Israeli army. Airstrikes are carried out against objects in the sector.
