The all-Russian demonstration of young Cossacks “Ready for work and defense” ended in the Rostov region, the press service of the regional administration reported on October 16.
This meeting was held for the sixth time in the Rostov region. It lasted three days. The young Cossacks competed in nine sports and two competitive categories.
The sports part included running, standing up, bending forward from a standing position on a gymnastic bench, throwing sports equipment, shooting, standing long jump, lifting the body from a supine position and running with a shuttle. As part of the competition program, the teams had to present a project to promote the GTO complex among their peers, as well as demonstrate a speech by the propaganda team about the GTO complex “Team GTO!”
Teams from the Yaroslavl, Orenburg, Samara, Novosibirsk and Rostov, Krasnoyarsk, Stavropol and Transbaikal regions took part in the demonstration. Winners were determined in individual and team competitions for each type of program.
“In the general team competition, according to the results of the competition, the first place was taken by the team of the St. Alexis Hermitage boarding school in memory of Archpriest Vasily Lesnyak (Yaroslavl region), the second place was taken by the Cadet Corps Kropotkin Cossacks named after Gennady Troshev (Krasnodar Territory), 3rd by the Shakhtinsky Cossack cadet corps of General Yakov Baklanov (Rostov region)”the message said.
