LinkedIn will cut more than 600 jobs

Professional social network LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, announced a new adjustment to its workforce that is expected to result in 668 layoffs after cutting 716 jobs in May.

The new cuts will have a significant impact on LinkedIn’s engineering, product, human resources and finance teams, the platform said.

“We are committed to providing full support to all affected employees during this transition and ensuring they are treated with care and respect,” the technology company said in a statement.

In May this year, LinkedIn announced the departure of 716 professionals and the shutdown of InCareer, its app for China, given changes in customer behavior and slowing revenue growth.

In 2016, Microsoft paid $26,200 million (€24,858 million) to acquire LinkedIn. It was the largest acquisition in the history of the Renmond giant until the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $69,000 million (€65,466 million).
