This Saturday, Sporting beat Olivais e Moscavide 3-1 and continued to compete in the Portuguese Cup, having learned a lesson… humility.
In the game of opposites in national football, the Lions in the league and Olivais and Moscavida in the Lisbon region, the difference between the four divisions separating them was not so noticeable. Amorim changed command and tactics, but the lack of routine was felt and accompanied by fear. Fresneda entered the game awkwardly and was fouled for a penalty after seven minutes. Fabricio did not flinch and gave the advantage to Olivais and Moscavida.
Having lost, Sporting was forced to recover. Individual quality was critical. First Trincao (13 minutes) and then Pote (20 minutes), who hit the crossbar against Ruben Goncalves, who with the help of some unorthodox defensive actions delayed Leonin’s goal.
The draw resulted from a penalty converted by Edwards (44 minutes), which Evenilson converted from the free kick. The turnaround was achieved in the second half by the energetic Zhenya Katamo after Edwards headed the ball against the post. The same Zhenya helped Braganca in the score 3:1, but this does not erase the weak game and minimal performance of Sporting.
