The administration of the Sochi resort appealed to companies and organizations in the hotel industry, asking them not to celebrate Halloween, the press service of the department of tourist, tourist and consumer services reported on October 25 on the Telegram channel.
The press service clarified that the call not to hold events related to Halloween is explained by the fact that “The history of this foreign date is unusual for Russian culture and traditions”.
Instead, the Sochi mayor’s office proposes celebrating Black Sea Day on October 31. On this day, it is recommended to hold themed events and events in the territory of hotels, inns and sanatoriums, as well as holding cleaning days in the beach areas under jurisdiction and surrounding the facilities with the participation of residents and guests of the complex.
In addition, the resort’s mayor suggested that restaurant establishments introduce marine-themed dishes to their menus.
The city administration noted that a large flow of tourists is expected in Sochi during the upcoming November holidays. Currently, 55 large tourist attractions continue to operate and about 30 winter beaches are planned to operate.
