The mother of a two-year-old and an eight-month-old was arrested this Sunday after leaving the children alone in a car with no keys and the engine running while she was at a bar in Florida, USA.
In accordance with ABC News, a West Melbourne police officer was on patrol when he noticed a car parked behind a bar with its engine running. When the agent took a closer look, he noticed children sleeping in the back seat of the car.
“The vehicle’s doors were unlocked and the vehicle was being driven,” the West Melbourne Police Department said in a statement.
The investigation found that the mother was in the establishment for “at least 20 minutes.” The woman was arrested and charged with child neglect and booked into the Brevard County Jail on $15,000 bail.
According to the same source, the woman has a criminal record.
