On Thursday evening in the center of Madrid (Spain), a car driver hit several cyclists following a march in support of Palestine, reports La Razon.
At a certain point in the march, a gray car is seen appearing on the road and moving forward, oblivious to the sea of cyclists occupying the road. A video widely circulated on social media shows the driver hitting several people.
Authorities rushed to respond to the alarm at 10:30 p.m. local time (9:30 p.m. Portugal time) to help those injured. Five people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. One victim had to be taken to the hospital.
Authorities are trying to identify the getaway driver.
The march is held monthly, on the last Thursday of each month, to protect more public space for bicycles. The latest event was also intended to show solidarity with Palestinians affected by clashes between Hamas and Israel.
