
Russia is ready to increase grain exports to 65 million tons in the current agricultural season. This was announced by Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev at a government meeting on October 28.
“In the current agricultural campaign we are prepared to export up to 65 million tons of cereals”says Patrushev.
According to the minister, seasonal field work in Russia is about to end. The harvest of wheat, buckwheat and rice is ending. The active phase is the corn harvest.
The Ministry predicts that for other agricultural crops this year the harvest will be higher than the average of the last five years. The oilseed crop can reach 27 million tons, sugar beet – 55.5 million tons, potato crop in the organized sector – 8 million tons, vegetables – about 7.3 million tons and The fruit and berry harvest is expected to reach 1.7 million tons.
Recall that according to the Federal State Statistics Service in 2020, with a cereal harvest (gross harvest by weight after processing) of 133.4 million tons, its exports amounted to 48.5 million tons. In 2021, with a harvest of 121.4 million tons, exports fell to 42.8 million tons.
