This Saturday, Casa Pia forced Benfica to a 1-1 draw at the Luz Stadium in the ninth round of the I Football League, in which they did not even convert a penalty.
The Reds, reeling from defeat in the Champions League and ending a run of seven consecutive league victories, were still ahead with Joao Mario’s goal at 44, but Casa Pia, who saw Felipe’s 54th-minute penalty miss allowing Trubin to save, and equalized in the 81st minute through Gaishka Larrazabal.
Despite the draw, Benfica takes a temporary lead in the league with 22 points, the same as second-place Sporting who play Monday at home to Boavista, while Casa Pia are 10th with 10 points.
