A witness at the front of the building explained CBS that during the party, a fight broke out in the back and that the situation quickly escalated when the man was prevented from entering the house after the DJ announced that the party was ending. The man then returned and started shooting.
The victims range in age from 26 to 53 years old. Two people, a 26-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, were taken to hospital in critical condition, while the remaining 13 are out of danger.
The Chicago Fire Department and police were at the scene and detained the perpetrator and placed him in custody. A firearm was seized.
The investigation into the shooting continues.
