A young German-Israeli tattoo artist abducted by Hamas militants at a music festival in Israel on October 7 was pronounced dead this Monday. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country.
“It is with great regret that we inform you that the death of German-Israeli Shani Luka, 23, has been confirmed,” read a note published in X (formerly X) magazine.
Shani Luk was attending a music festival where an Islamic militant group invaded and took several victims and hostages. A recording is being circulated in which a young woman can be seen lying face down in a van in the Gaza Strip, surrounded by several Hamas militants. The images shocked internet users, largely due to the fact that the young woman was inanimate and had broken legs.
Shani’s family immediately recognized the girl by her dreadlocks and tattoos and turned to social networks asking for help in finding her.
Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7. using rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. War was declared and the final three weeks of the conflict resulted in the deaths of thousands of people on both sides of the conflict.
