Two days after the death of actor Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends, the actors of the famous television series made a joint statement to the magazine PEOPLEwhere they react to the death of their former colleague.
“We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. We are a family,” Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer begin with their testimony.
The Friends cast says they still have “so much to say” but want to take time to “process this inexplicable loss.”
The band says that “eventually” they will talk about Perry again when they can, but “for now, thoughts and love go out to Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world,” reads a statement signed by the cast series.
For ten years, Matthew Perry played Chandler Bing on Friends in a performance that earned him an Emmy nomination in 2002.
On Sunday, series creators Marta Kaufman and David Crane, along with executive producer Kevin Bryan, released a statement saying they were “shocked and deeply saddened” by the death of their “dear friend Matthew.”
