The Spanish couple was found dead at their home in Madrid, Spain. As the police established, the woman killed her husband by poisoning him with bleach, and committed suicide. A farewell note written by a woman was found next to the bodies.
“Police confirm the death of two people, a 64-year-old husband and a 54-year-old wife, in their house in Fuenlabrada as a result of a violent death,” the Madrid emergency service wrote via twitter.
The couple’s children alerted authorities. They were concerned about the lack of response from their parents, according to a Spanish newspaper. El Pais. Both bodies were found in the same room.
At first glance, police determined that the man’s death was caused by the ingestion of bleach, chemicals, and drugs. An autopsy will reveal the exact quantities this one ingested.
The woman hung herself. Sources close to the investigation said the woman had already attempted suicide on other occasions.
The police continue to investigate.
