Three bodies washed ashore on Formosa beach in Santa Cruz (Torres Vedras) this Friday morning after the sinking of a Danish-flagged sailboat that left the port of Peniche at 7 am. A fourth body, that of a woman, was found near the wreck of a sailboat in Praia Azul in the afternoon.
The victims were two men, 57 and 59 years old, and two women, 46 and 61 years old. For what CM It has been established that all of them have Danish citizenship, and the identity of one of the men has not yet been confirmed.
The three victims washed ashore were not wearing vests.
At the time the alarm was announced, at 11 a.m., strong seas were observed in the area, waves reaching six meters.
The deaths have already been confirmed by INEM.
The sailboat, which sank about 1,000 meters from the beach, has washed ashore at Praia Azul, south of Santa Cruz, and is being removed by authorities.
An Air Force helicopter, the Vigilante boat from the Salva Vidas station in Peniche, marine police and firefighters from Torres Vedras were at the scene.
