Hamburg police said this Sunday that negotiations with an armed man for the release of his daughter, who was taken hostage, at the city’s airport had ended.
According to the agency, on Saturday, the suspect entered the car through the gate, fired two shots into the air and threw two burning bottles from the car. Reuters. This Sunday, “the suspect got out of the car with his daughter and was detained by emergency personnel without resistance,” police detailed in a post on the social network X. “The child does not appear to have been injured,” he added.
In another post this morning, the body acknowledged that the suspect may be in possession of explosives. “We have to assume that he has a real firearm, as well as possibly explosive devices of an unknown type,” the report says.

Two TAP flights, one early in the morning and the other early in the afternoon on Saturday, both leaving Hamburg and bound for Lisbon, were cancelled. Air traffic at the airport, suspended on Saturday evening, will continue on Sunday until further notice.
