The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested three people on suspicion of setting a car on fire in the Cova da Moura area of Amadora in Lisbon.
According to the SP statement, the case began in March this year when the suspects, who were members of a youth gang, set fire to a car “at the request of another member of the same group, currently in jail.” .” The same note also states that the crime was committed “simply out of revenge” because the owner of the vehicle was a relative of the principal and testified against him in another case.
During the fire, the group pre-doused the car with a “flame accelerating liquid,” PJ reports. The flames destroyed the vehicle, rendering it virtually unusable. The fire put nearby houses at risk.
The suspects, aged 19, 20 and 21, will be questioned for enforcement action.
