Israel asked Taylor Swift to help the state find Roni Eshel, a 19-year-old soldier who went missing on October 7, the day the war with Hamas began.
On social media X, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes Roni as “a great Swifty” and says she hopes the message gets through to the singer. “It would mean a lot to Roni’s family if Taylor uses the platforms she has to appeal for Roni’s return,” the post reads.
The publication reports that “hundreds Swifty getting together to raise awareness of Roni’s situation, making bracelets with her name in the hope that she will come back.”
October 7th, The Islamic group Hamas launched a surprise attack using rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. The attack killed more than 1,400 people, most of them civilians, injured about 5,000 and took more than 200 hostages.
