The total number of exits this year became known after the Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) published data for December. Another 371 professionals will retire in the final month of the year, the second-highest monthly figure after the 378 recorded in September. Most will receive a pension of between 2,400 and 2,900 euros, but there are those who reach 3,747 and those who do not exceed 1,400 to 1,800 euros. The number of teachers retiring each year has been increasing since 2018, and government forecasts indicate this increase will continue. According to Nova SBE research, schools will need to hire a total of 34,000 teachers by 2030.
