A father is searching for his eight-year-old daughter, who was taken hostage during the October 7 Hamas massacre. Tom Hand believed that Emily was killed during the attacks.
“Unofficial news came that she had been found dead in the kibbutz. I felt relieved that she was dead and that it was all over. We hoped that she was not one of those whose hands were cut off and tortured,” he said. Emily’s father, quoted Reuterswho said that it seemed to him that his daughter was killed immediately and without suffering.
On October 31, the Israeli army confirmed to the father that his daughter was not among the identified dead and that they believe she is still alive and remains in the Gaza Strip.
“She will have to spend nine years in the tunnels. She won’t even know it’s her birthday. She will have no idea of night, day or time,” Tom Hand said in tears.
The child hostage’s father is now hoping to see his daughter again and says he will “give her peace” when she returns home.
