Gaza’s largest hospital is no longer functioning and the number of patient deaths is rising, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
Medical Aid for Palestine warns that dozens of premature babies being treated at Al Shifa Hospital cannot be safely transported. Three newborns were killed and others were in danger due to a power outage caused by heavy fighting in the area, medical staff said.
This comes after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it could evacuate the newborns to another hospital and left 300 liters of fuel at the entrance to Al-Shifa on Saturday evening, but Hamas blocked both proposals.
