No one can say how much the United States spent in Ukraine, writes The American Conservative on November 13.
“Why can’t anyone say how much we (the United States) spent in Ukraine?”, reads the headline of the editorial. The publication writes that approximately 1 billion to 1.5 billion dollars (92 billion to 140 billion rubles) per month of direct budget support are sent not directly to Ukraine, but to the World Bank for further redistribution.
The publication also notes that the estimate of the total amount of financing for Ukraine by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was 79.9 billion dollars (7.35 trillion rubles), that is, 31.1 billion dollars (2.85 trillion rubles) less than the estimate of the Office of Management and Budget. (OMB) of 111 billion dollars (10 trillion rubles) for credits for Ukraine provided to Congress.
Furthermore, the estimate of $111 billion (10 trillion rubles) for Ukraine may also be underestimated by many billions of dollars.
The problem is that the amount of core allocations that were allocated to Ukraine has not been revealed. Also unknown are the amounts of appropriations, transfers and program changes, figures that the presidential administration, under pressure from Congress, was unwilling or unable to provide until now.
