Google has announced a new policy aimed at permanently deleting thousands of email accounts that have not been used since 2021. Removal will begin in December. According to the company, the accounts will be removed from Gmailfrom Drive and photographs that are not used.
The new Google Account Policy is created for security reasons and to avoid threats such as spamblows phishing and account theft. “If an account is left unused for an extended period of time, it is more likely to become compromised,” Google said in a statement.
The Company will send multiple notifications regarding the final cancellation of accounts to both the primary and backup email addresses.
To maintain an active Google account, you must log in at least once every two years. This new policy will not affect all users who do so. If you have devices where you are signed in to your Google account to use Google DriveYoutube or just download apps from Google game store, will not be subject to the new policy.
