PS MP Jamilah Madeira said on Wednesday that one of the measures proposed by the party in the 2024 state budget is to cap food card fees.
Responding to reporters, Jamila Madeira begins by emphasizing that food cards are “very common in our society” and that in terms of transaction fees they are not on the same level as other cards.
“They are putting a brake on those who receive food subsidies,” said the PS deputy. “The logic is to level out, to create the same cap or ceiling that is used as a benchmark in terms of the community directive for debit cards and meal cards, so that neither the users nor, of course, the network that can make these meals available for users,” concluded Jamilah Madeira.
Therefore, meal cards, which many companies use to provide food subsidies to employees, may not cost merchants more than other bank cards.
