A 28-year-old man who uses synthetic drugs was arrested by the PSP of Ponta Delgada, Azores, for domestic violence against his father and grandmother, a person “particularly fragile not only because of his age, but above all because of his serious health problems,” police said this Wednesday. The crimes were committed due to the use of said drugs in search of money to buy them.
The man had been under investigation since September following complaints from victims and he was first arrested later that month, eventually being released but forced to stay away and banned from contacting the victims. The PSP investigation continued and was able to identify “numerous episodes of violence, especially emotional and verbal” that occurred after the first coercive measure. He is now placed in preventive detention.
