The Ukrainian Foreign Minister this Thursday thanked Cape Verde for its support for “the integrity of Ukrainian territory,” expressing the importance his country attaches to African states.
In a message published on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Dmitry Kuleba emphasized to Ruy Figueiredo Soares that “Ukraine gives priority to cooperation with African countries.”
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy also said that he informed his colleague from Cape Verde about the work of the grain corridor, which “contributes to global food security.”
“We also discussed further steps in our bilateral relations,” he added.
Cape Verde is one of the Portuguese-speaking countries that voted in favor of the United Nations (UN) resolution calling for an early “comprehensive, just and lasting peace” in Ukraine in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter. .
Russia has been the subject of international sanctions, including from the European Union, since its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
The number of civilian and military casualties of the war is unknown, but several sources, including the UN, predict that it will be very high.
Russia’s war against neighboring Ukraine is considered the biggest security crisis in Europe since World War II (1939-1945).
