The head of the village of Taiturka, Usolsky district, Irkutsk region, was sentenced to five years in prison by the Usolsky municipal court on November 20, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Irkutsk region reports.
It should be noted that the court found the official guilty of accepting a bribe and exceeding official authority. In 2020-2022, the head of Taiturki received several bribes totaling 1.3 million rubles. In return, he provided the commercial organization with advantages in bidding for the purchase and sale of land at a reduced cost and the acquisition of residential buildings for the relocation of dilapidated housing.
The court sentenced the official to five years in prison in a maximum security prison colony. He must also pay a fine of two million rubles. After completing his sentence, he will be prohibited from holding certain positions for four years.
Recall that in February 2023, the Russian Investigative Committee accused the head of the Taiturka village, Stepan Buyakov, of accepting a bribe. Buyakov became head of the village in 2017. In autumn 2022 he won the elections again. Now Buyakov is 65 years old.
