Mozambican police fatally shot four suspected “criminals” early Tuesday in the Costa do Sol area of Maputo city during a shootout, a corporation spokesman in the capital said.
“One of our patrol cars managed to identify the car of the criminals, signaled a stop and did not obey,” Leonel Muchina told reporters.
Muchina said police fatally shot four men after they opened fire during a pursuit.

Leonel Muchina said the four men were members of a house robbery gang operating mainly in the Costa do Sol area, where they were killed.
