To reduce the risk of being detected by the enemy when US military personnel use wireless networks on the battlefield, artificial intelligence is used, the US Department of Defense’s Stars and Stripes newspaper reported on November 22.
“US soldiers in Europe tested artificial intelligence technology designed to evade enemy detection while using wireless networks in disputed areas.”– indicated in the message
The artificial intelligence-based anti-jamming technology, or advanced dynamic spectrum intelligence, was used by U.S. electronic warfare soldiers during a training exercise at the U.S. Army Joint Multinational Readiness Center Hohenfels in Germany.
Sensors help find the enemy’s electromagnetic signature for targeting. At the same time, the system allows units to hide their own electronic radiation so as not to become targets.
“Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division also experimented with this technology in eastern Romania while rotating to Europe.”– indicated in the message.
