
Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova (Arkhangelsk region) won a confident victory in the ski skating race at the first stage of the Russian Cup in Khakassia on November 23, setting the best time over a distance of 10 km.
It is noteworthy that the entire podium at the end of the race went to representatives of the Arkhangelsk region.
Another skier representing the region, 17-year-old Alina Pekletsova, who won a silver medal, lost just over 30 seconds to the race winner. María Istomina won the bronze.
