China plans to start producing car models taking into account the needs of Russian residents, said Chinese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui on November 22 at the 2nd Russian-Chinese Automotive Forum, Xinhua reported.
“China is ready to constantly develop models that meet the needs of the Russian market and provide first-class quality”said the head of the diplomatic department.
Hanhui added that China is ready to provide necessary services in this area, as well as help with the integration of production and supply chains. Chinese manufacturers will try to maintain a good image of their products, the ambassador added. He also called on the Russian leadership to support the Chinese automobile industry and facilitate its production, sales and work in the Russian Federation.
According to information from Chinese customs, during the 10 months of 2023, passenger cars worth $9.4 billion (830 billion rubles) were imported from China to Russia. The Russian Federation has become the largest automobile market in this country. Therefore, the next indicator for the same period is Belgium (5.2 billion dollars) and Great Britain (4.8 billion dollars).
