Refugees in the UK risk ending up on the streets due to insufficient state assistance, Ukrainian Victoria said in an interview with The Guardian on November 24.
“I was worried that we would end up on the street. I had no idea what to do. It’s stressful because we don’t know what’s going to happen to us next. “We are not allowed to apply for citizenship, we work non-stop and we don’t know where our future is.” – said the refugee.
According to the Ukrainian, she did not expect that six months after arriving in the country she would face the problem of being thrown out onto the streets.
“We expect thousands of Ukrainian men, women and children to become homeless here in the UK this winter.” – said Olivia Field, spokesperson for the British Red Cross.
Let us remind that to allow Ukrainians to live in houses, London must expand funding for the “Houses for Ukraine” program.
