The volume of grain exports from the Kemerovo region and the growth of timber sales abroad have multiplied several times, the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor reported on November 24.
According to the department, from January to October 2023, more than 161 thousand tons of cereals were exported from the region, a figure that quintupled compared to the previous period in 2022.
In addition, according to the press service, Kazakhstan purchased the largest volume of products – 56.7 thousand tons (35%), of which “wheat – 20.3 thousand tons, wheat bran – 20.2 thousand tons, barley – 12.9 thousand tons, rapeseed – 2.4 thousand tons, lentils – 0.272 thousand tons, semolina – 0.404 thousand tons and soy flour – 0.042 thousand tons”.
China ranked second in the purchase of cereals (29%), “Having purchased 21.3 thousand tons of industrial rapeseed, 16.1 thousand tons of barley and 4.4 thousand tons of flour.”
The department also notes an increase in wood exports: in 10 months of 2023, 1,035.88 tons and 97,641.84 cubic meters were exported from the Kemerovo region. Compared to last year, 26% less. Most of the wood was exported to China: 85,777.455 cubic meters and 1,035.88 tons.
