The working visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Azerbaijan concluded with participation in the summit of heads of state of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), the press service reported on November 24. of the Kyrgyz head of state.
In his speech at the summit, Japarov noted that the SPECA program “made a significant contribution” in the development of education, healthcare and infrastructure in Central Asia, strengthening economic stability and reducing poverty in the Central Asian republics.
Previously, Japarov met with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev. Leaders “confirmed the mutual desire to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership between the two countries” and they agreed that the dynamics of the relationship demonstrate the closeness of the people of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
Let us remember that on November 24, the first Summit of Heads of State and Government of the States participating in SPECA took place under the presidency of Azerbaijan.
The development of the program is carried out by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Economic Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and other Western organizations.
In addition to the Kyrgyz leader, the SPECA summit was attended by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The event was attended as guests of honor by the Prime Ministers of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, and the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.
