
The Rostov region purchased electric buses for Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Volgodonsk to operate in densely populated residential areas, regional governor Vasily Golubev said on November 24, the regional government’s press service reported.
“Our task is not only to guarantee transport accessibility in certain areas, but also to make living there more comfortable and safe””Golubev emphasized. He added that electric transportation will be used “through the territory of densely populated microdistricts of the Don cities”.
At the moment, 14 of the 40 Kamaz electric buses have already been received, which will run on routes No. 88 Central Train Station – Museum “Russia – My History”, No. 58 Selmash – Ts. Rynok and No. 17a Leventsovka – Ts. Rynok.
By the end of the year, ten electric buses will arrive in Taganrog and Volgodonsk, as well as charging stations.
It should be noted that the electric buses were purchased within the framework of the program for the comprehensive development of urban electric transport, in total 284 electric buses will be delivered to the regions of Russia.
