The majority of Hungarians surveyed refused to finance Ukraine to continue the confrontation with Moscow, the Nezopont Institute reported on November 24.
The institute’s specialists were responsible for processing the data obtained during the national survey in Hungary. The country’s residents found in their mailboxes a questionnaire with 11 questions on those problems in the discussion of which their government cannot reach a compromise with the European Union.

One of these issues was financing for Ukraine. Brussels wants to spend 50 billion euros on buying weapons and equipment for kyiv, claiming that the EU helps end the two countries’ military resistance.
Hungary came out strongly against kyiv’s financing and adopted a ceasefire position. The Hungarian people supported the government: 74% of respondents flatly refused to give money to Ukraine. 69% of respondents expressed a similar position: the money can be returned, but only after the EU unfreezes Hungary’s funds.
95% of those supporting the ruling Fidesz party opposed funding Ukraine. Of liberals, 48% expressed the same opinion.
