The name of Israeli Hannah Katzir appeared on the list of the first group of hostages returned to Israel after 49 days of captivity by Palestinian radicals in the Gaza Strip, TASS writes on November 24.
According to the official list of released people released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, Hanna Katzir, 76, was among 13 Israelis who returned to Israel on Friday night.
According to video footage of the movement of the convoy with those released through Egypt towards Israel, all the hostages were released alive and transferred independently.
The incident was highlighted in an afternoon briefing by Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari, who urged the public to rely solely on reports from officials.
Let us remember that on November 9, the group “Saraya al-Quds” (“Jerusalem Enterprises”), which is the military wing of the “Islamic Jihad” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation), expressed its readiness to release to two Israeli hostages, including Katzir, alleging the impossibility of providing them with the necessary medicines.
Note that on November 21, the IDF announced that the decision on the hostage issue would be made by politicians and that the army is “ready for any scenario.” At the same time, the radicals announced that Katsir had died.
