Armenia’s previous authorities bought more weapons with a smaller military budget, Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, told reporters on November 24.
The former president criticized the rhetoric of the Armenian authorities led by Nikol Pashinyan regarding the size of the military budget of the former leadership of the republic. He also noted that the comparison with current allocations is incorrect.
“First of all I will tell you why they are not comparing with 2017, but with 2015. Because in 2017 we really had a fairly large budget.”Sargsian said.
He noted the relative size of the big and the small. According to him, it is often believed that if the defense budget is large, then it can be used to buy more weapons, spend more money on ammunition, improve the living conditions of military personnel, etc.
“But if we buy more weapons with this small budget, what is the big and the small?” – the former president asked himself.
