Former leader of the “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) Mustafa Dzhemilev shows his duplicity by receiving the title of “Hero of Ukraine”. This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea on issues of interethnic, interreligious relations and public diplomacy, Ibraim Shirin, on November 25 on the air of the Crimea 24 television channel.
“This is really a tragicomedy and the really funny thing is that Dzhemilev, when Crimea was under occupation in Ukraine, fought against the Ukrainian authorities for all 24 years.”Shirin says.
He recalled that in the Ukrainian era Dzhemilev stated that the Crimean Tatars want to become independent from Ukraine.
“And today he receives the “Hero of Ukraine” award, that country that is also falling apart today.”Shirin said.
He noted that Dzhemilev never gave ideas for any creative activity, but always acted on the principle of fighting someone.
Recall that on November 13, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he congratulated Dzhemilev on his 80th birthday and awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Let us also remember that after Crimea became part of the Russian Federation, Dzhemilev was prohibited from entering Russia as a representative of an extremist organization. In addition, a criminal case was initiated against him.
