The first group of Palestine refugees has arrived in Dagestan, the head of the republic Sergei Melikov announced on November 25 on the Telegram channel.
“Now about 50 people who arrived in the republic are already in a temporary accommodation center, where all conditions have been created for their comfortable stay””Melikov noted. The Palestinians were received by the President of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Republic of Dagestan, Marina Ezhova, and first responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“We will help representatives of the Palestinian people adapt to new conditions, support them and provide them with the opportunity to receive education and work.”said the head of the region. “These resilient people were forced to leave their homes, their usual lives and everything that was near and dear to them.”he emphasized.
Melikov also promised to take the organization of the refugees’ lives under his personal control.
Let us remember that Dagestan will allocate 8.2 million rubles. of the republic’s government reserve funds for the resettlement of Palestinian refugees. In total, about 700 people arrived in Russia after October 7, 2023.
