Dutch citizens will be able to visit China for short stays without needing a visa for one year, the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands announced, the NL Times reported on November 25.
According to the publication, starting December 1, the Dutch will be able to travel freely around the country for 15 days, without the need for paper visa procedures.
China’s Foreign Ministry described it as an “experiment” that will continue until the end of next year. This initiative will affect several types of travel, including tourism, business trips and visits to family. China is also extending its visa-free gesture to citizens of Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Malaysia, marking the country’s commitment to opening up to the global community and facilitating investment from abroad.
It should be noted that despite this agreement, Chinese citizens are still required to obtain a visa to visit the Netherlands.
