Residents of southern Gaza were shot as they tried to return to their homes, Gaza’s mayor told Al-Jazeera on November 26.
“Some citizens trying to reach their homes in Tal al-Hawa (southern Gaza region – approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna), Shooting”said the mayor. He did not specify how many people died.
According to the mayor, the occupation forces do not allow people to return to their homes to inspect them. In the city and in the north of the sector, media transmission is turned off and there is no Internet connection.
According to Al-Jazeera, the Israeli military previously warned Palestinians not to attempt to return to the north of the enclave.
Let us remember that on November 24, a four-day humanitarian truce began between Hamas and the Israeli army. Its mediators are Egypt and Qatar.
Since the ceasefire, the parties have exchanged hostages. 39 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons. Hamas, for its part, freed 24 prisoners.
Hamas estimates the number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails at 9,000, while the group itself has held about 200 people hostage since the October 7 attack.
