Israeli army special forces dogs help soldiers on field missions. These four-legged “soldiers” have already helped find about 50 booby-trapped explosive devices and dozens of military arsenals.
Soldiers and Okets (K-9) dogs discovered explosives in a ward at Al-Rantisi Hospital located in Gaza City and an arsenal of weapons.
During another mission, one of the squad’s dogs discovered a barrel of explosives intended to destroy incoming forces.
Four dogs from this unit, which fought alongside Israeli troops, died protecting militants in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, the animals will be buried in the unit’s cemetery.
The animals were used by the Israeli army in missions in Gaza following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.
