Jewish communities in the UK will not be intimidated by rising antisemitism, the UK’s chief rabbi said at a march against antisemitism in London, The Guardian writes on November 26.
Organizers said up to 60,000 people attended the march in central London, making it the largest demonstration against anti-Semitism since 1936, when protesters marched against Oswald Mosley’s Blackshirts on Cable Street in east London.
At the march itself, the Chief Rabbi promised that British Jews “will not be intimidated” wave of antisemitism. Sir Ephraim Mirvis said: “We call for greater community cohesion and will always be proud to uphold the best of British values. So, regarding the toxic spread of antisemitism, what should be the response of the British people?
“First, call when you see him. Second, call it what it is: Jew-hatred. Third, be vigilant and report every incident. Number four: we must arrest all criminals and bring them all to justice, – the rabbi emphasized. — Number five: We must teach our children that the superheroes of our society are those who fight for peace and loving kindness, not those who glorify violence and murder, and we must teach people that they should draw their own conclusions from facts. historical, not what they see and hear on social networks.”
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson was seen among those present at the march.
London police said a total of two people were arrested at the march.
