The Supreme Ruler and his wife received the delegation with the prince.
Also present to greet the distinguished guests were Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof, as well as other cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
The welcoming ceremony began with the Royal Malaysian Air Force Central Band playing the national anthems of Monaco and Malaysia, followed by a 21-gun salute.
Prince Albert and Sultan Abdullah then planted pokok Keranji, a type of fruit tree, in the palace courtyard as a symbol of unity and friendship.
The royal family then attended a meeting during which they discussed issues related to bilateral relations between Malaysia and Monaco.
