More than 1,000 houses were flooded in the Rostov region, regional governor Vasily Golubev reported on November 27 on his Telegram channel.
The governor said that as of 6:00 p.m. local time in the Rostov region, 25 localities were still flooded. Including flooded areas in the cities of Azov and Taganrog, as well as in the Azov and Neklinovsky regions.
“In total, 2,917 towns and 1,094 houses were flooded, and 506 people were evacuated, including 120 children.”– Golubev said.
The governor also said that 12 settlements have been prepared where 813 people will be housed. Most of the victims are at their relatives’ homes; Another 19 people arrived at the temporary accommodation center.
Golubev also reported that 5 kilometers of the Kagalnik-Zaimo-Obryv highway were partially flooded. If necessary, cars can pass on this section through the village of Peshkovo.
Recall that on the eve of the natural disaster, rescuers warned residents of the region about a significant deterioration in weather conditions. Forecasters also warned of heavy rain and sleet, and said wind gusts could reach 29 meters per second in some places.
