The Sevastopol Aquarium, which suffered serious damage as a result of the storm and hurricane, will resume work on November 28. This was reported by the institution’s press service on November 27.
It should be noted that the damaged room will be closed. It is planned to restore it no earlier than April 2024.
Recall that 500 exotic species of animals died in the Sevastopol aquarium due to a storm and a hurricane.
During a storm, one of the rooms at the Sevastopol Aquarium was flooded with water. An ocean wave broke the roof of the building and water began to flood one of the exhibition halls.
The flooded room housed a collection of 800 individuals; the largest aquarium took the brunt. Animals from South America, Asia and Thailand lived here. 500 people died.
At first, the aquarium management was sure that there were no live fish left. But after most of the water was pumped out of the room, it became clear that the collection had been partially preserved.
For three days now, a storm has been hitting Crimea and Sevastopol. The head of Sevastopol declared a state of emergency due to interruptions in the city’s power supply. During the hurricane, trees fell and several people were injured.
